About Me

Medium-Close shot of Malcolm Cox Portrait
I’m a Certified Solution Focused Practitioner (IASTI) and applying for Associate Certified Coach (ICF). My entire adult life has involved coaching in one form or another.

I have spent 40 years coaching sports teams, choirs, leadership teams and individuals. My experience and expertise are broad, including leadership dynamics, relationship breakthroughs and performance, especially public speaking.

My approach to all coaching, whatever the focus, is always the same – the agenda is set by you. You are the expert in your own life. We begin with listening. People tell me I am good at listening. Indeed, from University days on, I have been called ‘Uncle’ Malcolm.

I am comfortable with technology, and am available to meet virtually or in person (COVID-19 restrictions allowing). At this time I have availability for a maximum of two clients a week.

My Story So Far

In addition to my coaching business, I am currently a minister in the Watford church of Christ and a trainer/mentor to upcoming leaders in the Thames Valley churches of Christ. My original degree was in music (BMus, Birmingham University). This was supplemented by a diploma in Theology from the London School of Theology. After teaching in prep schools for a couple of years (with dreams of being an opera singer), God called me into paid Christian ministry. I have worked in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Dublin – in fact in most parts of the United Kingdom and Ireland.

I have had the privilege to travel extensively both in these islands as well as around the rest of the world. Invitations to speak and train in Mexico, Japan, Ghana, Switzerland, Indonesia, South Africa, Poland, India, Ireland, the United States and Singapore have broadened my understanding of how the human experience is at one and the same time both universal and individual.

In addition to a book on the Gospel of John, I have authored hundreds of blog articles and recorded innumerable podcasts and YouTube videos. I have also written a number of songs.

My wife of thirty-five years, Penny, is a GP in London. We live in Croxley Green, West of Watford. One of our two grown-up children lives nearby, while the other is married and lives in Bristol.

My spare time is taken up with reading, walking and playing the piano.

I’m glad you’ve found me. I hope my site fuels your growth and equips you for the next chapter of your life.
